My Beef with the GRE

GRE random words was something I did while studying for the GRE back in 2004.  I must say that standardized tests are not my favorite things in that I do not really see the reasoning behind a general knowledge skills evaluation during the information age where specialty degrees are more common than general graduate studies.  Just read the description given below by the GRE official website and you might see what I mean.  Anyways, GRE random words is a play on the idea of random memorization learning.  While it measures one's ability to absorb and regurgitate information, this is basically useless in our modern information age when all information can be accessed so easily.  Needless to say I passed with a fair grade and learned that I can memories words and this tool helped.
